Mt. Samat
Going to Mount Samat is one of my achievement last year, you should check this out and plan a visit.
According to history, Mt. Samat is a historic mountain in the town of Pilar, Province of Bataan, in the Philippines. Located near its summit is the Mount Samat National Shrine, which is dedicated to the fallen Filipino and American during World War II.
more canyons out there
The best time to visit Mt. Samat is during early in the morning to avoid the sun’s peak. You need to go through many stairs to see the memorial cross. What is so special about this place?
Going to the shrine, the road is very steep so be careful when driving.
When we arrived Mt. Samat, I don’t have any idea what this place and I've never heard of this. My friend just told us to visit there and I forgot to do some research about the place. So here we are see the stairs?
We need to walk upstairs to see the cross
After the stairs you can see this view.
nice view
marmol stone hallway
its a little bit cloudy & chilly
When we reach this top we thought that we can enter inside the memorial cross already. But there's the stairs again ...wew!
More stairs to go ... heading up to the giant cross (MEMORIAL CROSS)
Halfway going up!
And we made it here.. yippee.. bladders called, perspiration called and thirst called. There is a CR here (don't expect too much from their CR). And also there is a store here so you can buy some drinks, chips and souvenirs.
the shrine
There is an elevator inside and you need to pay PHP 20.00 as I remember. The elevator is so small and it can accommodate 5-6 persons only. This is a must so you can experience the thrill going up inside the cross.
And we reach the heart of the cross.
breathtaking view
The parking area.. I can see our red van over there
The view from the top is breathtaking and its cold up here. I'm a little bit paranoid, what if there's an earthquake while we are here... I can't imagine.
Visiting Mt. Samat is a great experience, so if your planning to visit Bataan, try to visit this Shrine. You will enjoy the view.
Its me!
Thanks for reading this blog... Enjoy!!
