A budget Itinerary going to Boracay Island

Many people think that Boracay Vacation is quite expensive. But If you are wise to plan your budget going there, it is possible to travel there for a less cost. This is a budget itinerary guide so don’t expect a luxury here if you are a tight budget here is what I did.

1)       You should plan your trip few months early so you can purchased a promo Airfare.

I booked my Flight on June and the travel date is October so I have 4 months to wait. I preferred October to avoid peak season like December to April.

2)       Booked a common Hotel that cost 500 per night. Its better if you book with friends so you can divide the Hotel Fee.

Booking to an expensive Hotel is not practical for me because I went to Boracay to enjoy the beach, to party at night, to stroll around and to do some water activities. So I’m just going to my Hotel to get some sleep and take a bath. I believe it doesn’t make sense if I booked the expensive one. This is just my personal opinion.

So we booked a Hotel from “Agoda” site which cost us PHP 500 ($ 11.00) a day each. (PHP 1500 for 3 of us).

Our Hotel is La Bella Casa located in station 1 at the back of Willy’s Rock.. just few steps away and you’ll find the beautiful beach. Don’t expect too much from this hotel because this is just like a pension house. At least we have our own bathroom and a free breakfast. The room is air-conditioned and the Television has cable network provided. And there is a guard for 24 hours.

I love this Hotel's location because its station 1 and I don't need to ride a multicab going to the beach.

3)       Bring some foods.

There are many restaurants at Boracay to choose from. But if you are a tight budget, you preferred to eat on less cost. Based on our experience we brought some foods (canned good, loaf bread, spreads, chips, ready to eat noodles, canned sausage etc) to our Hotel. Outside of our Hotel there is a small eatery, and we just bought some cooked rice to eat with our provisions. Actually we are very satisfied while eating those during that time.

Anyways a free breakfast is provided in our Hotel

On our first day when we arrived in Boracay, we ate at Restaurant which cost us less than 200. The food is good for that price.

On our second day we ate canned food (that we bought) for lunch and grilled hotdogs on dinner for PHP 20.00 and some street foods for PHP 30.00 and rice PHP 10.00 from the eatery near our Hotel.

On the third day, we ate at Andok’s restaurant for PHP 50.00 (chicken with rice) this located in Station 2 near D’Mall. For our dinner, canned food plus noodles.  Cheapskate huh….

4)       Water Activities

Water activities is a must if you are at Boracay. While walking on the shore there are lots of fixers or agent offering water activities. They have different pricings so you need to canvas there and don’t grab their offer immediately if you want to save your budget.

And we found Manong Jun (I called him squidward tentacles because of his nose) peace manong Jun. We love manong Jun he is very accommodating and very attentive.

He offered us a deal for parasailing for PHP 1,000 per head and PHP 350 for helmet diving. This is not bad at all.

I just observed that everywhere I looked there is always a tip box (is that compulsory).

5)       Party at night
let's be drunk all night let's be drunk all night

There are lots of bars in Boracay located at station 2. While walking there, you can see the prices of their beers and their promos. So you should stroll around first and choose the cheapest rates. And I found one and it is located in front of Sbarro restaurant (Boracay Uptown). It’s an open area with live band. Their rate is PHP 270 for 1 bucket of beer. Very very cheap!! And they sell varieties of beer hooray.. My friends and I have different preferences for the beer. So the beer should be assorted.

I befriended our waiter and I ask if we have a freebie if I ordered 2 buckets of beer ahead. And he said “I’ll give you two bottles just be quiet ok”. And of course we gave him a gratuity =) Stubborn..
