How to go to Boracay from Manila

The heat is on The heat is on

It’s was my first time going to Boracay Island and I am so excited. Boracay is famous around the world for its beautiful fine white sand. I’m fortunate to live here in Philippines because I can go to the beautiful island within 1 hour via plane anytime I want.

Off to Boracay!!! feeling excited! Off to Boracay!!! feeling excited!

Boracay Island is located off the northwest corner of Panay Island, and belongs to the Western Visayas island-group, or Region VI, of the Philippines.

I write this blog because I don’t have any idea going to Boracay island before. And now I've been there, I believe this blog will help you how to get there for less cost.

I booked a flight from Manila – Caticlan (one way) via Cebu Pacific plane. I got a promo which is cost PHP 800 ++ which is really a deal because it’s hard to find a promo flight going to Caticlan Airport.

TIP

-       If you want a promo fare just always check their website or subscribe so they’ll notify you thru email or facebook if they have promo.

-       Booked your flight in advance.

Because I don’t have any idea how to go to the island, I searched on the internet going there. But unfortunately some information is not accurate and it confused me. The airport transfer is not included on our accommodation to Hotel. So I’ll really need to research.

We arrived safe and sound! We arrived safe and sound!

When we arrived at the Caticlan Airport, there are many tricycles (multi cabs) outside that offering us a deal transferring us to our Hotel. Which I think is expensive? So I feel dubious about that. They offered a deal which is cost PHP 380 per person which includes (tricycle going to the port, boat going to the island & environmental fee and some taxes) geeez! and I didn't buy their offer , and just ask them how much is the regular fare going to the port and the driver said its PHP 50.00 (and I deal with it) so the driver send us to the port.

TIP

-       Caticlan has two ports going to the Boracay Island (Jetty Port & Tabon Port)

The tricycle (multi cab) driver told us that we should go to Tabon Port instead Jetty port. It’s not safe at Jetty port for the boats to sail because of the waves that time.

When we arrive to the port, there’s a cashier and we need to pay for (environmental fee, boat ticket, government tax) which is total of PHP 125.00.

More more fees. really??
More more fees. really? Expect these...

The boat is full of passenger.

So we drop off from the boat and we ride again a tricycle going to Hotel. Its cost PHP 50 each because the driver said our Hotel is located on station 1 and its a little bit  far.. really??
Boracay is the best! Boracay is the best!

So we made it to the Hotel! Yehey! (the travel time is 1 hour) including the waiting the time on the boat.

Boracay to Manila (KALIBO airport)

We booked a flight from Kalibo to Manila which cost us (PHP 1,300) via Cebu Pacific

Going to Kalibo airport, the travel time is 2 hours (VAN). Which cost us PHP 220 per person  including the boat and other fees (environmental fee or tax fee I really don't know).

Thank you for reading my blog. Hope this will help you. Cheers!
