It was identified by Google in 2009 as topping the list of beach destinations in the Philippines. It was described by Yahoo! Southeast Asia in March 2013 as one of the "top surf spots" in the Philippines. Nine-feet waves serve as its main tourist asset, attracting hundreds of surfers during the surfing season from September to February.
Manila to Baler
We choose to commute instead using a private vehicle because we don’t know how to get there.
So we went to Genesis Transport (located at CUBAO) to reserve a seat at JOY BUS (a coach service at genesis transport). Unfortunately it was fully booked. It should be one (1) week in advance for you to book the seats .
Why should you choose JOY BUS??
- The bus is very spacious with comfy chairs
- There is no stop over so the travel time is much less unlike to regular bus
- They have restroom inside.
- They provide snacks like (bottle of water and crackers)
- They provide blanket if you want to sleep
- They have attendant (WOW)
CONS – It cost PHP 750.00 (which is pricey compared on regular bus cost PHP 450.00
We failed to ride in the JOY BUS and we have no choice and just buy a ticket to the regular bus.

No more Joy Bus =( Bye bye[/caption]The waiting time is very frustrating because we arrived at the Bus station at 2:00 AM and we left the station at past 4:00 AM ...waiting for 2 hours long is terrible!! They’re waiting for more passengers! So if you want a very convenient ride, you should reserve early at JOY BUS.. lessons learned =)
