Feel the Filipino-Spanish era at Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar

[caption id="attachment_44" align="aligncenter" width="676"]Way back to Spanish era in Las casas Filipinas de Acuzar Way back to Spanish era in Las casas Filipinas de Acuzar[/caption]

Its amazing that we had an opportunity to visit this place. Ancestral home since Spanish colonial time that has been preserved.  It feels like I've traveled to another planet so peaceful, beautiful and different...far away from reality with loud sound, tall buildings and many establishments in Manila. I never knew before that this place existed "Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar"

Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar is located in Bagac Bataan. Its a kilometer drive from Manila. We reached Bataan within 3 hours (it should be 2.5 hours) but we went to Mt. Samat. The place is easy to locate because there is a sign on the road that show us the direction.

As we enter the gate, you can see the staffs are wearing a katipunero like Barong and Barot Saya (they look like a folk dancers). Even if the weather is sunny they still wearing that? I feel bad for them.

We booked an executive suite at Las Casas which is good for 6 persons. Their check in time is 2:00 PM but we are a little bit early, so they suggested that we  have the "History tour" before we check in, but we decided to have lunch at their cafe "Marivent" instead before going to our room. Honestly, we are excited to see the room.

Here is the verdict.

PROS:

- They have free historical tour exploring houses at Las Casas (included in the accommodation)

-  You can ride their kalesa for free

- This place is very unique and relaxing

- This is a 2.5 hour drive from manila if you want to unwind

- The staff was very accommodating

- Their food is delicious (TIP: don't choose the set meal)

- I like the idea of batis inspired pool

-The beach is clean and calm

- I love their Filipino restaurant and Italian restaurant... the food was excellent

CONS

-They don't allowed food inside.

- If you request to deliver your food in your suite, they will charge you extra.

- The beach is far from our suite. You need to walk a few meters to go there.

- There are some small jellyfish swimming on the beach and I caught one.

- Its creepy to walk by night inside the Las Casas because there are no people around.

HOW TO GET THERE

Via San Fernando Exit
From the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), exit at San Fernando, Pampanga and go straight along the highway until you reach past Balanga, Bataan. Turn right once you see a sign directing you to the Mt. Samat memorial and drive through a zigzagging a road. Once you see the Philippine-Japan Friendship Tower, turn left at the fork. Keep right for the rest of the drive. You'll soon see signs directing you to Las Casas.

Via SCTEX
Go straight until the end of NLEX and enter the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) going in the direction of Subic (not Clark). Exit at Dinalupihan and turn right on the provincial highway until you reach past Balanga. Follow the remaining route as in the San Fernando option.

Here are some of our photos... enjoy! Thanks for reading my blog!
